A607

Lincolnshire County Council have 3 significant road schemes planned for the A607 in 2025/26 financial year. Cllr Maughan has been working with Highways to plan this work with the least amount of disruption, noting issues with other schemes carried out in recent years. This is always difficult on the A607 due to the lack of suitable diversion routes, but we want to minimise the impact on the No 1 bus service and local businesses as far as possible.

Cllr Maughan reported  that all three schemes will be nighttime works to help with daytime traffic flows and daytime businesses. The road will be closed whilst the contractors are there working overnight but re-opened outside of working hours.

Although this may not suit everyone, Highways consider that working nights will mitigate much of the disruption generated by previous roadworks in this area.

The provisional dates for these schemes are as follows

  • Caythorpe (from the crossroads up to Fulbeck) – 28 July – 29 Aug
  • Honington to Carlton Scroop – 8 Sept – 10 Oct, (note the gap of a week between the two schemes, this is due to a small drainage scheme that will affect our ability to do these works)
  • Leadenham crossroads - 13 Oct – 6 Nov (just outside of our parishes but relevant to us)

The estimated costs (at this stage) of these schemes are below, which represent a significant investment in road improvements in our area.

  • Caythorpe - £800k
  • Carlton to Honington - £1.15m
  • Leadenham - £250k

Detailed designs and site location plans will be available nearer the time from Highways. The usual statutory notifications for these works will also follow once dates are confirmed with contractors.
