Finances

Parish Clerk reports that there is £437.42 held in the earmarked firework account after the deposit of £750 has been paid for this year’s display.

Suggestions for Improvement

Soup to be added as a food option together with mushy peas and mint to accompany baked potatoes served with beans and/ or cheese, hot dogs and burgers. Simon stated that he and Kim will deal with all of the catering.

Interval – discussion took place regarding whether or not there should be an interval. It was decided to review nearer the time depending on weather.

Sound system – Was not loud enough in parts of the field last year. AC to speak with Playing Field Chair to see if the volume can be increased, and how the speakers should be positioned for maximum effect.  ST to speak with friend  to investigate possibility of borrowing some additional equipment.

Posters – SF will speak with his contacts to try and get the posters from last year reproduced but omitting the sparklers and amending “Free entry” to “Entry by donation”

Generator for Lighting – AC to speak with Playing Field chair to ascertain if the generator can be borrowed for lighting purposes. Alternatively investigate battery operated lighting (AC)

Gazebo to be provided outside Pavilion kitchen door to accommodate tea and coffee vending and supplies for volunteers.

It was noticed that the Sports and Social Club had difficulty coping with demand last year. Investigation into possibility of scouts providing a stall selling water and cold drinks and crisps, possibly sited in a gazebo outside. (AC)

Ice cream van and toffee apple vendor to be booked (AC)

Fireworks

Galaxy booked for 2nd November Cost to be ascertained (JB)

Music – JB to investigate with Galaxy if they can do this at reasonable cost or if JB can provide as last year.
